blank walls | bare skin...all canvas / by Clint Newsom

Tattoos and graffiti... like beets and fine wine, an acquired taste - or is it? This design competition looked at providing a cutting edge designed learning establishment and to help break the negative stigma of tattoos. The street art of Melbourne is known as some of the greatest in the world and the city has implemented an initiative to encourage graffiti. Much like Venice beach's approach to permitting areas to be tagged, the city of Melbourne issues permits for graffiti at certain locations and even promotes these locations on their city's website as tourist attractions. Incorporating graffiti walls into the design of the tattoo academy will help promote creativity and provide inspiration while breaking down the negative stigma associated with both beautiful forms of art. We strive to inspire, influence change, and promote positivity.

Shout out to my super talented boy Jeremy "Jay" Smith with beauty from pain @soxofjermysmith

Culture makes people understand each other better. And if they understand each other better in their soul, it is easier to overcome the economic and political barriers. But first they have to understand that their neghbour is, in the end, just like them, with the same problems, the same questions.
